I spoke with my therapist about my inertia. She said that I am in competition with myself and being a perfectionist and afraid of loosing, I decided not to compete. Fear of failure. I think she's right. Yesterday morning I slept all morning, got to work, got home, got back to bed. This morning I did some washing, studied a bit, but at the first sign of potential struggle (and consequent "failure" ) I decided to watch Hell's Kitchen and NCIS instead.

I am really liking how they are handling the whole Ziva thing... the show is still watchable, even for slash shippers. Making it more of a Gibbs/Ziva issue than a Tony/Ziva issue was a pretty smart move.

Unlike Merlin, where battle lines are being drawn, and while we know how it's going to end, I think they are hurrying up to the end too quickly. How can it be that for Arthur Gwen is just Morgana's servant one day and the love of his life the next? I am not asking for them to preserve my ship's integrity, just to let things evolve with some sort of logic.

With Huddy if not over, majorly tuned down, I am back into House. Love the whole House/Wilson as flatmates dynamic, and love the new Chase storyline. Just about time! The boy deserves a spotlight. Not missing the "new team" at all..

As you can see my avoidance tactics work perfectly... I start talking about them and I end up talking about my shows.

Hey honey, just popping in to be nosey and to say hi :)
This is not the first time I see referenced in your journal you are studying and since I'm back to school myself I was wondering what exciting subjects you are covering now :)
*huggles* And I'm kinda dreading watching Merlin exactly for the reason you just mentioned (obviously not because I think that Merlin should be Arthur's one true love ;) )

No being nosey. I am studying to teach Italians to speakers of another language. The ideal would be to teach through internet, but I'll most likely end up teaching in schools. Nowadays 10% of students in all grades do not speak italian and schools are desperate. I count on that desperation to get a job.

Wow 10% of kids? That's a humongous number!
Are you finding the course interesting? I mean it can't be too much new ;) but you're learning it from a teacher's pov. I'm going to be in a similar situation soon because I want to start tp teach Lex how to read in Italian so it feels like a pretty interesting subject.

It's very interesting...it touches on the way we learn, how our brain works and which kind of activities best suit learning. Apparently most teachers teaching language in our schools barely know how to teach it. But I helped a couple of kids who studied English and I found myself agreeing.

If you need tips for Lex, let me know.

Yeah 10% is pretty high. Add to that that most of the kids are arabs or chinese, with languages and culture very different, you have a serious problem.
