Football, plumbing and underwear
Jul. 6th, 2006 04:29 pmHad a few cranky days...not slept well, spent too much time waiting for the darn plumber to eat well and do my exercises, been told by the optician that probably my eyesight in my left eye is permanently 3 degrees down, my garden was suffering the heat too much and myself too...
Then on Tuesday I joined the entire Country in watching Italy beat Germany and getting to the World Cup final. Yes I know I said football bores me and I actually yawned quite a few times and kept expecting the players to pounce each other and have a good roll in the mud (and you lot keep your brains out of the gutter, I was missing rugby not sex. Yes I would have loved them to have sex instead of behaving like squeeing fangirls, but I am still shocked by what you can find by googling "yodel" ) but football is the only thing that actually has Italians getting out flags and behaving like a Nation, so... I am happy we are going to the final. even if France is a though cookie.
Then I switched plumber. Found a new one, that not only did come the day after I called him, but rang the same day giving me a time, kept that time fixed the problem I asked him without trying tricks of the kind "I need a new part that is going to cost you your first born" was nice, clean and gentle and asked for an honest price. I am still under shock.
Then I found a small used stuff shop that stocks Gap, Banana Republic, Guess and Victoria's secrets. What's the big deal you will think. There are two big deals: Victoria's secrets babydolls for less than 2 dollars and underwear and jeans that actually fit me in good quality material. *sighs* Gap doesn't simply have stuff I like, it has it in shapes and sizes that fit me without making me look a potato sack or making me walk with Silas pains. And I guess this is enough TMI on my underwear habits*
Add the fact that the temperature has finally dropped and water from the sky is cheering up my garden and I am feeling a bit weirder than usual but well enough to write.

Date: 2006-07-06 06:09 pm (UTC)Over here they are all completely football mad. If you look out of the window during matches an erie silence fills the air...

I once heard it said that gardens reflect their owner's moods so if you've been a bit down I bet the plants feel it. But now you're perking up, I bet that haven of flowers and wildlife will soon be blooming like you!

Can I also share the icon love? I got a bunny that has been following me these last few days and looks weidly like Totti: It is about Ody and Hector watching the final with Lealta and then getting involved in the celebrations and I can so see Titus, screaming painted face driving around with an Italian flag bigger than the car...only I don't want to jinx things.
I'll make a bet: if Italy wins...I am going to write this bunny.

Date: 2006-07-07 01:21 pm (UTC)I used the icon because I was poking at my Sylum Rome bunny. Thanks to my wonderfully amazing mate I managed to prod Lucius mostly into behaving again so I will hopefully be writing more soon *bouncy*
*giggle* Actually I don't know about an italian flag only.. *grins* after all we haven't had it for that long :) But I can so see Titus with his face painted, *giggle* his chest too maybe. *snickers* And Lucius just standing there thinking "I so don't know him" but still watching the game (within safe distance of the screaming lunatic that is his mate). You know you could write it either way *gives Lucas uber puppy eyes* If the French cheat (as usual) and beat us you can have Lucius cheering his mate up :D

Date: 2006-07-07 01:28 pm (UTC)The general idea is to have the whole of Lealta watching togheter the match, with Remus (dunno why *Innocent look*) being another particula enthusiast.
I have this scene with Galileo and Michelangelo calculating how big the banner can be before causing the old 500 to turn in itself...and discussing how to get all the Clan into said 500 to beat the record number of vampires in a 500...
They are going to use il tricolore. Garibaldi will go all hunter on them if they don't...
