Yesterday cleaned the house, done some gardening, done some shopping to the health food store, watched The Core (good for his genre, even if not the most original film ever)and read a good Buffy/Tom Clancy crossover (inspired by having watched The sum of all fears on Thursday).
Some people may find weird that a person with my political background enjoys Tom Clancy, but leaving aside his basic assumption that America may be stupid but is always right and that all the non American people that have problems with America's foreign policy are a)evil, b)stupid c) evil & stupid, he is a very good writer. He manages to pick up little pieces of completely unrelated information, to put macgyver them in an explosive mixture and to get his hero to sort out the mess at the last minute, keeping all the time his reader interested and updated.
On other news, I am slowly starting work on my dissertation. I would like to let my Head of Procurement have it by the end of the month, so she has enough time to sort it out. The idea of being on the verge of completing what is basically a second degree makes me feel a bit nerdy, but I have worked hard for it, so why not completing it? It would be a fitting conclusion of my life as a civil servant. All that I need is to keep myself motivated.

Date: 2005-05-08 10:29 am (UTC)A Buffy/Tom Clancy crossover? That is very different. I guess one can't say you're not open to possibilities.

Date: 2005-05-08 10:54 am (UTC)Only maybe your politicians should realise that they are not the World's cops only because you have the biggest guns, that most of the World is perfectly able to police themselves and that would probably be more beneficial for your industries if you were not to use said guns to open markets for them. Is it so evil/stupid of me?
P.S. You can find the crossover here: http://www.tthfanfic.com/main.php?subsublist=3260
It's a site who specialize in Crossovers. There is quite a lot of SG1 stuff and some is even reasonably good. A favourite of mine is Bridges. Strangely for me, it's mostly gen and het stuff.
