It's official: Ody has entered the job market. And because JK Rowlings apparently doesn't need a beta (and she sooo desperately need a good one),  I have to go back to doing what I know: does anybody need a buyer? I am a good one I swear. I was one of Procurement brightest hopes until life decided she had other plans for me. And as they say to catch a thief...

Actually I would rather teach creative writing, or work for a publishing house, or do gardening, or raise goats. Or I could unleash the Royal Bitch and start writing reviews.  Dunno. Maybe I should ask my f-list...

What should I do when I grow up? (and even if I keep kicking and screaming the day is coming(

Hmm. What do you love to do most?

I've compromised. I can't get a job in my field currently so I'm just looking at any old job until I can get on my feet. It depressed me at first, but then I realized I needf money to support my writing habit. I still have my fingers crossed that one of my stories will come back with an acceptance letter attached to it. But in order to keep at it, I need money to pay the bills.

And hey. It's all "research" anyway, isn't it? ;)

What can you see yourself doing?

what do I love most? Doing beta work. I love working with writers, boucning off ideas for them, supporting them and when possible promoting them.

So my dream job? Creative writing or Publishing.

I am keeping my fingers crossed for you darling. One of those letters will come back with an acceptance.

Creative writing and publishing sound fun. I think you could break into either one of those.

I guess it's a matter what you want. I see publishing as more businesslike where creative writing instruction would be more about guiding. I could be wrong.

I agree with you...that's why my first pick would definitely be creative writing...

*grins* :D

Well, if I go crazy and wild for you I say write letters to Ann Rice and JKR that you are offering your services as beta. JKR I never heard about, but I believe you immediately that she needs a beta. Ann Rice I heard horror stories of her spelling and grammar.

So, do your best. Once the world sees what a good job you did there will be more books to beta, I am sure.

Meanwhile teaching creative writing sounds great to me.

That's an idea. Can I write to JKR and tell her that Draco told me to do it?

Of course and just add then that Severus and Harry back their blond haired mate up. :D And that they are all three vampires. Honestly, wizards. Ha! :D

You know the weird thing is that I don't think that would be the weirdest letter JKR has ever received....

I say teach creative writing and raise goats. The two go hand-in-hand for some reason. :D

What's the dream Job? Barring a dream job, what job will not make you pull out all your hair and still pay the bills? The second bit there is called a 'JobbyJob' or a 'Clark Kent job'- you do that while saving the world on your lunch breaks and such.:D Even Superman had to work to pay his rent.

*hugs*

The question is: is the world ready for a creative writing teaching, goat raising me?

Dream job is teaching creative writing. I love helping people to create.

Speaking of which, how is the Emperor doing? *pokes*

Of course the World is ready! The current paradigm, on the other hand, might be a little underprepared. But who cares what the stupid ol' paradigm thinks!

Well, then I think you know your starting point for job quests. Look at how easy that was! :D

OW! *rubs side where the poky stick poked*

Ah yes...Emperor. How is it going, you ask? As I said to another pal earlier this week: "I think I need to have Zelda Zee talk to Sayid for me. Because if he doesn't start talking to me, I'm going to steal Eko's Jesus stick and BEAT SAYID ABOUT THE HEAD AND SHOULDERS WITH IT!"

Yeah, I'm still a tech blocked. You're suggestions, however, are quite good...I'm just not sure what needs to happen.

Though I *did* just manage to get three Weaveverse bits finished and out...so that bodes well for the rest of the WiPs.

*hugs*

*Hands over woodden spoon of doom*

Try this one with Sayid, it usually works.

Right now I know where my heart wants to go. Any idea on where my head can take it there?

*puppy eyes*

Thanks, darlin'!

Hmmm...are you asking about concrete steps and such? I admit I'm a tech confuzzled...

In the meantime...

*takes spoons and goes off to stalk Sayid*

Yeah... I am thinking of practical steps.

You going to stalk Sayid to do kinky things to him with a woodden spoon? Can I come too?

It's pretty addicting, that's for sure. The people Rec'ing House and X-files this month are particularly good.

Oh and you want to thank Slyum's Dr. Frasier for the link. She's the one that told me about the crack van. :D

*hugs you tight*

*huggles* I think you would be a fantastic creative writing teacher. You'd keep your students interested and inspire them and would, quite simply, be great.

Growing up is overrated. How about we agree to never grow up? *grins*

Good luck on the job market, but follow your dreams. Do what you've been encouraging me to do and I think you'll do fantastic.
*hugs* Do what you truly want to do.

Thank you. *blushes* I just love writing and the watching and encouraging the creative process.

I am thinking of ways to make this dream real. And more than everything trying to summon enough passion to be brave enough to folow it.

*hugs*
