Right so what I have been up to other than starting meta discussions and generally being a drama queen about my writing? (BTW, you'll be pleased to know that as part of the "Ody Protocol" I have been expressly forbidden by my big sis [profile] cleo1969 to start anymore Meta discussions until she's back from the Clan gathering, where she's going to represent the council)

July, that for me is always the cruelest month ( with apologies to T.S.Elliot and [personal profile] teigh_corvus ) is finally gone kicking and screaming ( literally judging by the storms we had last week) hopefully bringing with him the drought that has so damaged the farmers. And the gardeners.  I did have 4 victims in my garden, mostly damaged by the hot winds that are blowing today too, but i know I have been lucky. Or maybe loving. Luckily I acquired custody of two plants, including a rose in the battle T-Rex Vs the psycocats taking place downstairs.

I also acquired custody of Russell, the T-Rex goldfish after Willow was found with her paws in his bowl.. I never thought that a goldfish could be such a good company. He talks to me by making bubbles, especially when i get up and he wants his breakfast, likes country music and if you dance in front of his bowl he dances with you. Apparently he particularly likes Keith Urban. Wonder if he's more of a Rossella than of a Russell. [profile] mistokath13 I know i promised pictures and I swear psycocats allowing, I'll do it this week to.

T-Rex and the father are currently on holiday in South Tirol were my father is probably going to get himself beaten up by singing rude songs about piles. This means that I get to babysit the psycocats. On Saturday they mostly snubbed me, on Sunday when I did got to bring their breakfast I was cheered up and cuddles were exchanged, especially by Xander, that since his masculinity has been restored has shown more common sense than his sister, even if he's a bit of a feticist: he loves my feet and shoes and has now started chewing on my hair everytime he get the chance.

Today they are probably feeling the hot winds blowing and have been trying to create havoc and destruction. For a second willow had even me believing she could fly, before I removed her from the plant she was eating and took away her jump step.

I have been writing as well and discovered that I do have 4 fics I can use for the Sylum challenge. I'll tidy them up and post them later in the week, once I got the prompts sorted and everything nice and tidy.
Next? [personal profile] teigh_corvus promised Birthday fic, next chapter on the Notorious Pig saga and my CV. I have been told of a possible job. Keep your fingers crossed for me, because I would quite like that...

That's more or less everything from me at the moment. To those of you already on holiday: have fun. To those of you back: hope you had fun. To those going, especially to the Clan Gathering: have fun.

See you when you come back.

Psst...

*whispers* I'm not going either. Wanna be bad and start some meta while she's gone? :D

We could discuss plagiarism in light of the essay on Cassie Claire's plagiarism debacle. Or we can discuss the benefits or detractions of using quotes from other materials in a piece of fan fiction.

...

Or we can discuss whether or not Legolas is really a blond, or if Balrogs have wings, or whether or not Jack and Daniel really do write their own slash on screen without any help from us. I'm flexible. :D

Cassie Claire...that woman is a wank a minute. The essay is amazingly well written and persuaded me that not going near the HP fandom has been one of the wisest things I have ever done.

What about the role of BNF in fandom? Do you think we would end up on F_W with that one?

Or maybe we can meditate on this weird thought that crossed my mind recently: Why there is not a credible professional woman character in a show? Because if she was a credible professional woman she would be home writing slash about her incredibly hot workmates.

LOL. Yep. She's the poster girl for what not to do in fandom. Actually, the numbers of illegitimate writers in the HP fandom is greatly reduced once one leaves the Pit. Sure, there's wank, but it's usually focus around the time when books are released or select weirdoes find fandom, lol. I've actually had great fun in the HP fandom.

As for BNFs...I think they're just fine, as long as they don't start believing the fangirl propaganda. That's when the tears and recriminations (and lots and lots of wank starts). And yes, we would if the discussion gets out of hand. :p

You know what, I like the third one. Because I know if I were Catherine or Calleigh, I'd be weighing the odds of my male co-workers getting it on behind closed doors. Makes an awfully pretty picture. :p

*Puppy eys* sure you don't want it? If this bunny stays here...not a lot of hope of it being written.

*crosses fingers, toes, and anything else she can think of* Of course we'll keep everything crossed for you. It's the very least I can do after how much you've helped me.

Psycocats... is there any other kind? I'm glad there weren't too many casualties in your garden. I'm also very glad that July is over. Very glad.

Looking forward to the Council fics. *hugs* Have a great week.

These are total psychocats. I gbrought down the fish to change his water today and the two maniacs, who had just finished eating, were all over poor Russell.

Any help I can offer is always here for you. And I am going to need all the positivity I can in going back to the job market. *hugs* thank you.
