Yesterday we went to a family day trip to Treviso to see an exibition of Chinese design (if you are interested the English link is here: http://www.laviadellaseta.info/ )

The exibiton was great. I laughed myself silly when i discovered a small terracoota of a sow looking exactly like the Empress of Blendings, Odysseus' beloved pig. Obviously, I wanted a replica, but all they had was a picture, so I got that. I'll scan it and put it up, together with all the pictures i took of Treviso and of Villa Pisani, a beautiful villa in the Brenta area(http://www.villapisani.it/english/indexeng.htm) and share them later.

We had lunch in a small family run restaurant by one of the canals. The food was great. I had asparaguses wrapped in roastbeef served with salsa verde and egg mimosa. Then I had asparagus sauted with ham, salad and tomatoes. I really enjoyed it.

We got also hold of some of the local delicatessen: cod, asparagus, kren, artichokes and wine. Except for the wine, all things i can fit in easily in my diet. Yummy.

In the afternoon we went for a small tour of the Brenta Villas. For those who don't know them, the rich Venetian families had all their holiday houses in the countryside on the River Brenta, that they could easily reach by boat from their town hoses. The most famous of these Villas were designed by Andrea Palladio, the architect that taught and inspired Georgian London. Kenwood House, on Hamsptead heat has been build following the model of the Brenta Villas.

We visited the Park of one of these Villas, Villa Pisani. The Villa is notorious because Mussolini and Hitler used to meet here, but the park is so beautiful that I can't believe evilness could be plotted here. Even if I lost my glasses (found thank to a kind man who handed them to the ticket office) and I got locked inside the toilet by an evil lock. I had to be rescued... *blushes*

By this point we were all so tired (and I had filled my camera's memory card) that we decided to come home.

Where I took a shower and slept linka a log for 9 hours straight.

All in all, it was a good day, even if a thing or two were hinted that left me uneasy. I still am actually, but then I have been for bit now. Yes, it'Spring Odysseus, time to take to sea again...

*grins and hugs you* I am glad you had a good day, hun.

I've always had a fear of lock. I have no idea why, but when I was little I used to hate going into public toilets and locking the door because I was afraid I was never going to get back out again. I always get this funny little 'zip' go through me if I can't open a locked door immediately or if the locks stick. *shakes head* I'm a weird one...

Well, that makes the two of us. Even if yesterday, when the thing I was afraid of happened, all I could do was to laugh myself silly.

I am a weird one too, I guess...
