Workand Birthdays
Nov. 1st, 2009 05:21 amIt's 5:21 am on the First of November, I can't sleep, I have cystitis, I burned my finger and I am ready to start NBloPoMo.
Talking about what I have no idea. Didn't just say I wasn't doing off the cuff posts anymore?
Let's start with a state of the Nation then. On Monday I turned 40. I decided to start my new life doing something positive and so I went to a meeting for the practical part of my studies.
I am going to do it at a small No Profit, so no chance of a job afterwards, but good chances of being involved in the work at all levels. The manager was most welcoming, and keen on getting me involved. From Thursday I am going to help teaching Italian to our growing immigrant population.
As for work, it's... work. There's less business than before, but my boss has started some side businesses, like Internet betting and Video poker, that are taking off. What is this going to mean for me? I don't know. Being on 20 hours is hard on the pocket, but good for my health. I am much more detached and with the other things going on in my life...
I have more of a future at 40 than I had a 39.
