First of all I got a plumber and I got a fully working shower.

Second I promised a post on why Lost is one of those 70s posters that they sell in Camden Market assuring you that if you look very well you'll see a face or the Darhma initiative symbol or Vincent having sex. You keep looking and you don't see it, then you have a party and there's always somebody very drunk that actually see a face, the Dharma symbol Vincent (delete as applicable. So you drink enough to actually agree with your friend. Only the morning after while while you stumble in the kitchen trying to put together a big fry up you realise that you can't see it anymore.

I reached this conclusion after having spent an insomniac evening trying to match Lost characters and Iliad characters and actually managing it.
Sawyer is obviously Odysseus, but he's also the very pissed off Achilles that take all the guns.
Jack is Hector, but he and Locke make a perfect Agamemnon & Menelaus pair, inept and arrogant leaders.
Locke is also Paris, stealing Claire/Helen to Charlie/Menelaus that allies with Sawyer Agamemnon to get his revenge.
Sayid is Dyomedes proud warrior, but he's also Achilles, seeking revenge for the death of Shannon/Patroclos.
As for Boone, he can be Patroclos or more likely the Iphigenia that Locke/Agamemnon has to sacrifice to the gods of the island.

And we could go on and on and on...down as far as Micheal as a trojan horse.

I am sure that the Iliad game can be played with quite a few texts: the Tarots, the Bible, most epic poems and Alice in Wonderland spring to mind (don't tell me that Henry Gale doesn't look as the Mad Hatter and Sawyer doesn't smiles as the Cheshire cat) I am open to suggestions...

And now for some random tidbits I picked up:
To the women on the Island: never have extramarital sex or you'll be dead by next episode. Look at Shannon and Ana Lucia.
Can somebody have extramarital sex with Kate, so they can kill her off and Jack and Sawyer be happily ever after?
Can somebody have extramarital sex with Locke and then kill the pompous ass?
Can we have more Sayid in Season 3? I am fed up with any attempt to make Kate look like a good girl (she has committed multiple murders in cold blood FCOL) and Locke as anything else than a delusional creep.

And finally...can somebody point me to the Lost writers'dealer? He surely keep them on some very good shit, dude...

Bwhahaha! I love your brain!

Well, and the rest of you too, of course. Your poster analogy is simply *excellent*. I'm finding that there's *all sorts* of fun to be had with mixing and matching Lost with Lit. texts. It's a Little Black Dress fandom - it really *can* go with anything. My fandom love just grows and grows...

None of this explains why there are so few truly *good* crossovers of Lost out there. *pouts at the lack*

And..hear! hear! More Sayid, dammit!!!

Assuming that the Eliot/Heaney muse is kind today, I should have my own bit of Lost meta up this week. First will be an overview - I'm still processing the Jack meta. That fella is so friggin' complicated...

Oh! and look! http://www.apple.com/trailers/sony_pictures/spider-man_3/

double w00t!

Little Black dress fandom?

*Giggles*

I think it fits so well as a definition...

I have now reached episode 21 and the questions are growing...

what is the Others obsession with children?
what is the vaccine about?
How hot is Mr Eko?
Will the headpaste make another apparition?

as for the absence of good crossovers...that's a very common problem. I can count on my fingers the really good crossovers I read...

Lost is trickier because or you go AU, or Future fic...
