Flowers, pictures and X-Men
May. 30th, 2006 08:05 pmRight...got to a lovely Flower show on Saturday. Plenty of gorgeous plants. Really loved the antique fruit trees and the roses some French exhibitors brought. Pretty different from the stuff you can find around here...better not to get me going on the state of Italian Gardening culture (if such thing exists). I was cycling along a road of nice little houses with gardens and I couldn't find a single garden that interested me: lawns, hedges, geraniums pots and the mandatory lonely rose was all that was on offer.
Anyway, back to the show. I got four plants (Astrea; Geranium pratensis, Achillea Millefolia and a lovely small pomegranate bush) some spices and plenty of pictures, that sooner or later I'll upload.
Talking abour pictures, I have been experimenting with sunsets, and I am quite proud of my results. I am waiting for tonight sunset. It has been stormy all day and now it's sunny and windy, so it should be pretty spectacular.
Moving to motion pictures, I went to see the new X-Men film last night. Not as bad as the Da Vinci Code, not as good as the two previous ones. I think that the main problem is the fact that they tried to cram 3 films into one. Too much stuff, nothing getting a satisfactory development.
But the whole Jean Grey storyline gave me some tips on what to do with my therapist. *evil grin*
But this deserves a rant on its own.
What else...wish me luck. I face a 6 hour family car trip tomorrow, and while I am looking forward to a meal in one of Tuscany finest Restaurants on my father tab, I am not looking forward to spending so much time in a close environment with a cranky T-Rex and...my dad.
I'll report for duty when i get back or when I have dealt with the bodies.

I just came home from watching X3...and I'm not sure what to think about it, myself...
...anyways, have a nice trip, if you need an alibi or want to hide for some days, let me know, ok?

Thank you. I managed not to kill anybody...even if I got tipsy (damn Chianti), so I am not sure I remember everything...

*Blushes*
The wine was pretty good too. But I should not have killed any members of my family.
At least that I can remember.

Date: 2006-06-01 06:05 am (UTC)Thank you. As far as I can remember (Chianti is a very nice wine you know?)things went well.
I thought about it and I think I pinned down what is wrong with X-Men 3. They killed Scott and made Logan play his part in the Dark Phoenix Saga, that doesn't make any sense at all.
Killing Scott screwed up all the team dynamics. And my OTP too...*Pouts*

Date: 2006-06-01 06:26 am (UTC)There's nothing that cheers me up more than a well loved and looked after garden. I don't care in which style, but I do have to feel the love from it...

Date: 2006-06-01 01:33 pm (UTC)I love hearing about your garden. I, personally, am not allowed near the gardens (something about my killing plants...) but I love to look at them and like hearing about them.
I still haven't seen X-Men 3 yet, but, since I don't know too much about comic canon, I'm hoping to be able to enjoy it.
*hugs* Because I can. :)

Date: 2006-06-01 03:52 pm (UTC)Chianti is a very nice wine, yes, I know *grins*
Yes, killing Scott, very evil. I can't believe they did that. And Wolverine was so...*not* Wolvie! We like our Wolvie bad and grumpy...and not all happy boyscout, that's Cyke's role!
however, I somehow liked Beast. I want a Beast of my own. And I found it horrible that they totally ignored Nightcrawler...he wasn't even mentioned in the movie! And they could have done more with Angel...
Which one is your OTP? Just out of curiosity.

Date: 2006-06-01 06:04 pm (UTC)As for my OTP that would be Logan/Scott in Movie Verse and any combination of Logan/Scott and Gambit in the Comicverse...

*Looks at garden fondly...*
My garden it's my baby...I am so proud of it...and I learn so much from it.

Date: 2006-06-01 09:00 pm (UTC)I love that pairing too. Gambit! *cuddles* he's so great! And Wolvie! (Is it worth mentioning that at this moment, my hair looks a lot like his? All spiky and sticking in different directions?) And Scott. I love him in the movies, he's so great. And I firmly believe that he has to be back. They can't kill Cyke. Evil people...
...although, while watching X3, I had to beat this unwanted Iceman/Wolvie bunny with a bat...they had some nice scenes together. Whereas I didn't like Rogue in this one. Or Jean, but I didn't like her in the first movies, too, so...
The red is very intense. But once the eyes adjusted, it's very very nice.

Date: 2006-06-02 08:33 am (UTC)I notice that too. I think that Bobby has grown up, where Rogue hasn't...but I can't stand her and her whiny ways in whichever Universe...
May also interest you in some Gambit/Logan/Scott bunnies? You are used to 3somes...
I like Jean. Can't understand why she has 2 of the hottest men around drooling after her and still hasn't suggested a 3some...but this is what fanfic is about.
*Grins* Wolvie hair? Hope the first two films style, not the last. It's a bit too Robert Smith from the Cure style...
*sighs*
Yeah, the red is a bit too red. I think I'lll have to tone it down just a bit...
