Generation Kill
Jul. 29th, 2008 06:22 pmI have a new obsession:
Generation Kill: http://www.hbo.com/generationkill/
Leaving aside the slashing potential of pretty boys in uniforms ( Fick/Colbert seems the way to go, but personally I am partial to a bit of Colbert/Person) It is a gritty and realistic portrait of the first 40 days of the Iraq war (may the end be near ) told from the point of view of those who fought it.
It's based on Evan Wright RL account of his experiences and a lot of the marines portraied collaborated to the film.
Going to the site and clicking on Support the troops it's possible to send donations of items they really ask for to the troops, so even if you are not interested in the series, go and help the soldiers. The war may be wrong, but those fighting it should not pay the price for politicians'idiocy.
