A little help
Dec. 8th, 2004 08:55 amWhile following the whole CC saga on F_W, somebody brought up the link to this:
http://www.4christina.org/
The suggestion was to put your money where your mouth has been, and to raise a charity drive for somebody who a) is not a BFN b) Has pressing real/life needs.
So I post the link for people to spread for two reasons:
1) Because I like the idea of F_W showing the world that they are something more than a lovely bunch of sarky know-it-all (the battle for moral high ground is an hard one)
2) Because I have lost my mother to a similar type of cancer, and I know what this family is going through. I was lucky that in Italy there is still State founded medical care, that covered her medical bills, but you do not know what the costs to a family are unless you have lived through this. From all the little comforts for the person that medical care does not cover, to the constant worry for everything and the constant battles against the system and people not understanding and not wanting to. Jill, I do not think you will never read this, but remember, you are a brave, strong and good woman. Lots of love.
