My job interview
Sep. 27th, 2006 03:11 pmI had my first job interview since starting jobhunting yesterday. The job is for the occasional translation and more likely to teach English.
Considering that my other opportunities involve going back to Purchasing, job that I love but that I am not sure it fits me anymore, I was quite keen on getting it. Through betaing I have discovered how much I do love teaching, coaching people, encouraging them to learn and to improve...
Another bonus is that it would be a parttime/occasional collaboration allowing me to go back to working rythm at my own pace.
The interview went, I think, reasonably well. First they asked me to do a test on my English, by translating some basic sentences, then she interviewed me half in English and half in Italian. Her main concern were that I would take off mid course and that I didn't had much experience in teaching English. Just in teaching in English.
But she kept repeating "If as I hope we are going to work together"... and my mate says it's a good sign.
All in all I am relatively pleased with myself. I hadn't had a job interview in a long time and even if I was vibrating I managed to keep my calm and give what for me pass for sensible answers. Now all I have is to keep my fingers crossed and soak in all the good vibes.
*hugs*
thank you folks you make me feel loved.
